Known as the Practical Shaman, Renee Baribeau is an expert ceremonialist, healer, teacher, and writer. Over the past fifteen years, she has trained with a long list of traditional shamans and modern-day mystics. She has received rites of passage from Q’ero elders in Peru and a Mapuche shaman in Chile, and apprenticed with a Lakota elder in Southern California. A graduate of the Healing the Light Body two-year program with the Four Winds Society, she studied directly with Jose Luis Herrera. She has also received the healer’s blessing from Swami Kaleshwar.
Renee is Director of Desert Holistic Network, a growing health and wellness chamber of commerce and web portal based in Southern California. Former resident shaman for the We Care Holistic Spa, she now runs a private practice that serves individuals, including numerous high-profile and executive clients in Beverly Hills and New York City. Possessing an entrepreneurial spirit, Renee has owned two successful restaurants and catering companies, and spent ten years as a corporate executive. Walking comfortably in two worlds, she is both a successful business leader and a humble servant of her community and the earth.In 2010, Renee’s healing memoir, The Shaman Chef, placed her among the top 25 finalists in The Next Top Spiritual Author competition, emerging from a field of over 2,500 candidates from around the world. This book is scheduled for publication in autumn 2011. She resides near Palm Springs, CA.

Renee uses both Energy and Process to assist you in reaching your goals. Utilizing her shamanic training and her western personal healing, she is able to track and locate your deepest blocks to wellness. She is then able to assist in your healing journey using both energy to facilitate the experience and process to reinforce your positive change. She holds the space for the process of healing to occur by synchronizing with her clients and raising their vibrations, thus creating resonance with a new field. Her ability to track into the core issue is at the heart of every process.

Renee Baribeau tells how she overcame emotional neglect, abuse, addiction, and chronic depression by creating life-sustaining rituals based on her own intuition and teachings from various spiritual traditions. As the child of a violently angry alchoholic father from a poverty-stricken background, Renee had to find her way in the world with little wisdom or guidance from her elders.
Even though she earned a college scholarship, graduated with honors, became a property owner at the age of twenty-two and a business owner the following year, those successes were never enough to counteract the crippling depression that dogged her steps from a young age. It was only the discovery of her natural gift and affinity for cooking that saved her from an early death with drugs and alcohol. When that skill deserted her she had to find a new menu for survival and she was successful in that search. Today, Rene is free from the constraints of her lifelong mood disorders. She enjoys being awake and fully present in the Now moment of her life and is devoted to encouraging others to find their own rituals for healing and recipes for living.
