| Justin's Birthday Celebrations |
Last week a call came from a young man looking for a shaman. He wanted to do a special ceremony for his upcoming birthday. I was moved that at thirty he was asking for this type of celebration, and immediately made space for his group in my home. When he walked through the door, his bright light filled the room. He brought along an array of guides and teachers (see orbs, photo right) along to witness his special ceremony. It is times like this that I am in awe and grateful for the amazing gift of walking down the center of the path.
During the preparation for the group, it was clear that it was important that his friends honor him. We passed the talking stick around the circle. As it moved from family to friend, each person shared an intimate story displaying their love and admiration for this unique young man.

| Releasing our Stories |
So often working as a healer, we are called into the domain of ill health and trauma, but last night there was a celebration in the air. There is lingering joy this morning in my heart from this gift of the fire. Before we started the fire, I gave a brief introduction into the work of a shaman (video below). and did a meditation so that everyone could get clear on what it was time to release at the fire. The fire danced in anticipation and was generous to accept everyone's prayers and gifts; situations and behaviors that longer served the group. Each person came to the fire gave their written note a thankful last breath, and then shed their burdens into the soothing flames. It was a magical night under the stars.
